Region XIV took the bow off its conference schedule Tuesday night, with mens teams from the North Zone capturing five of the seven games that were played.
One of those South Zone squads that came up short was Jacksonville College.
The Jaguars were stopped by Navarro in Corsicana, 63-57.
“Our boys played good, but Navarro played better,” JC head coach Jody Bailey said.
The Jags (4-6, 0-1 Region XIV) will attempt to earn their first conference triumph on Tuesday when Kilgore comes calling at 7:30 p.m.
Navarro is now 6-3, 1-0.
The only South Zone schools that cracked the conference win column Tuesday were Lee and Lamar State-Port Arthur.
Lee defeated Bossier Parish (La.), 92-84, while Lamar St.- PA outlasted Tyler, 118-110, in a high-scoring affair.
In other action, Paris tripped up Blinn, 87-76 and Trinity Valley bombed San Jacinto, 73-56.
Kilgore won a close one over Angelina, 72-63 while Panola clipped Coastal Bend's Cougars, 76-68.
