Jaguar golf closes fall season by finishing 6th at TJC tourney; Troup’s Ghene ends up tied for 7th

Golfers from Jacksonville College joined teams from sixth other Texas colleges earlier this week for the Tyler Junior College Fall Invitational, which was hosted by Oak Hurst (par 72, 6,813 yards) in Bullard.

The Jaguar “A” team finished at 627 (317, 310) to come in sixth place out of the nine units that participated in the two-day event.

TJC “A” won the tourney by carding a combined 586 (287, 299) to down Paris Junior College by four strokes.

Ranger College (604) came in third, one spot ahead of TJC “B” (605) and two places ahead of University Texas-Dallas (619).

Rounding out the order of finish behind JC “A” were, Texas A&M Texarkana, LeTourneau and JC “B”.

Tyler Terry of TJC won a playoff over Ranger's Parker Rogers to win medalist lauds.

Terry and Rogers completed 36 hols knotted at 141.

 Ghene, a graduate of Troup High School, ended the tourney in a four-way tie for seventh place.

The freshman sensation shot a 76 in the first round and finished strong by carding a 72.

Ghene was JC's only man to finish inside of the top 20.

This week's tourney completed the fall schedule for the Jag linksters..
