NEW LONDON — Troup's Josee Ross did not allow a single base runner and struck out five batters, including the side in the final inning.

The five punch outs gave the Troup sophomore the new school record for career strike outs (226) — the previous record was set by Jessica Ross, Josee's older sister.

The Lady Tigers (23-5-2, 9-1 18-2A) piled up 11 hits in the game, which was highlighted by eight Lady Tigers crossing the plate in the second segment.

The Lady Tigers blasted the Lady Raiders 12-0 when the two schools faced off in Troup last month.

Troup returns home to face rival Arp at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
