Jacksonville Dadrian Franklin was a real points magnet Friday at the Wildcat Relays in Whitehouse.
Franklin, a senior, raked in 23 of Jacksonville's 52 points to win Top Athlete in the varsity boys division.
Franklin edged Kade Clayton from Grace Community by a single point to capture the honor.
Franklin's efforts helped enable the Tribe to finish in fifth place in the team standings as well.
Chapel Hill took first by rolling up 100.5 points, followed by Hallsville with 97.33 points and host Whitehouse (88).
Kilgore (71) was the only other team to finish in front of the Indians.
Marshall (45.83) came in sixth, with Nacogdoches (39) and Pine Tree (34.33) close behind.
Lindale and Mount Pleasant tied for ninth place, with each school picking up 30 points.
Completing the order of finish was, Grace Community (23), Hallsville White (6) and Bullard (2).
Top finishers in the varsity girls team standings were Lindale (99), Whitehouse (93) and Hallsville (90).
Kilgore was a close fourth, with 84.5 points.
Next was Marshall (61), Chapel Hill (60.5) and Pine Tree (32).
Schools finishing behind Jacksonville (8th, 28) were, Grace Community (26), Nacogdoches (24), Bullard (13), Mount Pleasant (9) and Hallsville White (0).
Jacksonville track and field teams will be n action today and tomorrow at the 16-4A Meet, which will be held at Wildcat Stadium in Whitehouse.
Action was scheduled to get under way at 9:30 a.m. this morning and will start at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
