No. 6 Laneville bullies New Summerfield boys

LANEVILLE — New Summerfield Hornet head basketball coach Jason Davis said prior to tip off of Friday night's game against No. 6-ranked Laneville that he liked his team's chances against the Yellowjackets.

About 90 minutes later Davis was chirping a different tune as Laneville brought its “A” game to Yellowjacket Gymnasium, and as a result the 'Jackets ran roughshod over the Hornets.

The final score was 76-60.

The game was determined by the events — an 18-0 Yellowjacket run — that played out over a four-minute span that began with 1:38 to play in the first quarter.

Laneville(5-3) led 34-9 after the progression, which pretty much eliminated the Hornets' chances at securing a victory.
