JACKSONVILLE — Jacksonville College head men's basketball coach Jody Bailey announced late Friday afternoon that the college had reached an agreement with Ryan Glenney to become the Jaguars' new assistant coach.
Glenney takes over for Bert Capel, who resigned earlier this month to become assistant coach at Stetson University in DeLand, Fla.
Glenney has served as an assistant men's basketball coach at Western Texas Coilege for the past two seasons.
"Ryan is very intelligent, organized and competitive and he has a real passion for coaching," Bailey said. "I was extremely fortunate to have spoken with some great candidates to replace Bert Capel, all of who could have successfully joined me in leading our program. However, in my opinion, Ryan seperated himself from other candidates with his understanding of the spirit, character and mission of Jacksonville College. He shares our values and is a proven coach."
Prior to coming aboard at Western Texas, Glenney was an assistant coach at Dallas Baptist University from the Fall of 2009 to the Spring of 2011.
Before his time at Dallas Baptist, Glenney served as student manager at Iowa State University.
