Bullard 3, Gladewater 0: Mackenzie Fish racked up 13 digs and 11 kills to fuel Bullard to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-10) victory over Gladewater Tuesday evening in Gladewater. The win evened Bullard's 16-4A slate at 1-1 — the Lady Panthers are 17-9 overall. Other players of impact for the Lady Panthers according to head coach Ben Belshaw were Katie Cole with seven digs and four aces and Ashley Searcy who slammed down five spikes to compliment her two blocks and a pair of aces from the service line. Maddy Davis had seven digs, five kills and a pair of aces while Katie Trezise notched a four kill performance. The Lady Panthers also won the freshmen match (2-0) and the junior varsity outing (2-0). Bullard will host Gilmer at 4:30 p.m. (varsity) on Friday with the match serving as Teacher Night, where various teachers will be honored by team members prior to the start of the match.
Diboll 4, Jacksonville 1: The Fight'n Maidens of Jacksonville traveled deep into the Pineywoods Tuesday night to take on the Diboll High School volleyball team in a non-conference match. The Ladyjacks got a real test from the Maidens, but were able to eventually take the triumph, 25-18, 17-25, 25-18, 27-25. Jacksonville travels to Price for a 4:30 p.m. match Friday with Carlisle's Lady Indians.
Troup 3, Winona 0: Troup improved to 2-0 in district (13-12 overall) Tuesday night when the Lady Tigers pummeled Winona 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-14) in Winona. Josee Ross collected a dozen kills and two aces while Carly Dyess tallied 23 assists and a pair of aces for Troup. Cheyney Cover had eight digs, two kills and two aces to help the Troup cause. Up next for Troup is a home date with Arp at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
