Gabe Lucio, a junior running back/linebacker, scored three of Brook Hill's six touchdowns during the Guard's 42-0 dismantling of Dallas Shelton School Friday night in Carrollton.
And for that reason Lucio has earned Daily Progress Player of the Week honors.
Brook Hill breezed to a 42-0 win to stay perfect in TAPPS II-2 play (2-0), while running their docket to 3-2 overall.
Two of Lucio's scores came via the ground, with one score coming on a scoring reception from quarterback Zac Wilson.
All three of Lucio's scores came in the first half as the Guard built a 28-0 advantage at the break over the winless (0-4, 0-2) Chargers.
Lucio finished the night with 12 carries for 125 yards.
Zac Wilson, LB, Brook Hill — Wilson collected nine solo tackles in the Guard's blanking of Dallas Shelton.
Grant Hanks, DB/QB, Brook Hill — The junior do-it-all for the Guard went 6-of-10 for 70 yards through the air and rushed six times for 37 yards. On the defensive side, Hanks made an interception.
Dillon White, RB, Bullard — White took over as feature back after Brent Henderson was injured on the second play of the game. White carried 20 times for 96 yards (4.8 yards per carry) in Bullard's District 16-3A-opening loss to state-ranked Kilgore.
