JV Tennis: Jacksonville puts away Whitehouse, 13-6

WHITEHOUSE —

In junior varsity tennis action that took place on Thursday, Jacksonville sailed past Whitehouse, 13-6, in Whitehouse.

The Tribe boys won six of eight singles matches, with four of the wins being three points or less.

Wesley Stegall, Conner Coughlin, Jesse Gobea, Trayvion Montgomery-Horn, Brandon Fagg and Evan Yount all earned wins for the Tribe.

Adam Verhelle & Coughlin teamed up for a win in No. 2 boys doubles, while Gobea & Yount won their No. 3 doubles match.

Jacksonville's girls also factored in to the victory as well.

Carolina Landin, Ashlynn Miller and Leslie Mercado carved out wins for the Tribe in girls singles play.

The Tribe won both of the girls doubles matches which featured the pairings of Landin & Taylor Rush and Miller & Mercado.

Jacksonville travels to Lufkin Hudson next Thursday for a 4 p.m. match.
