JACKSONVILLE —

Henderson Lions (2-5, 1-2) at Bullard Panthers (3-3, 1-2)

7:30 p.m. Friday at Panther Stadium in Bullard

Head Coaches: Phil Castles, Henderson; Shannon Wilson, Bullard

Last Week: Henderson 28, Spring Hill 23; Chapel Hill 56, Bullard 7

Next Week: Kilgore at Henderson; Bullard at Gilmer

Quick Take — The winner of this game will have the inside track to the final playoff berth out of District 16-3A, so there is a lot on the line for both clubs despite their records...Bullard should get a boost from playing at home, but will need a skilled player or two to step up and help QB Connor Mebane who accounted for 59-percent of his teams total yards in the loss to Chapel Hill last week...The Lions' overall record is a bit deceiving as Henderson has played a tough non-district schedule that included Prestonwood Christian, Hallsville and Nacogdoches —three playoff bound clubs....The Lions usually mix things up like a Hamilton-Beach blender, so the Panther defense will have to be able to stop the run and the pass in this one.

Troup (5-2, 1-1) at White Oak (6-1, 1-1)

7:30 p.m. Friday at Roughneck Stadium in White Oak

Head Coaches: Dennis Alexander, Troup; Gerry Stanford, White Oak

Last Week: Tatum 35, Troup 21; White Oak 46, Harmony 14

Next Week: Troup at Harmony; White Oak at Sabine

Quick Take — The premier storyline in this game is Troup is expected to be without the services of QB/LB Blake Lynch who fractured his wrist last week...And while an athlete of Lynch's status cannot be replaced, Brandon Hearon should do a respectable job under center...The loss of Lynch on the defensive side may be a tough pill for the Tigers to swallow...Troup will be facing a 'Neck defense that is giving up under 12 points a game and has held opponents to seven or less points four times this season...White Oak has won four of the last five meetings between the two clubs and leads the all-time series 13-6-1.

Alto Yellowjackets (4-3, 1-1) at Grapeland Sandies (2-5, 1-1)

7:30 p.m. Friday at Sandies Stadium in Grapeland

Head Coaches: Paul Gould, Alto; Shawn Brown, Grapeland

Last Week: West Sabine 28, Alto 10; Grapeland 14, Cushing 6

Next Week: San Augustine at Alto; Shelbyville at Grapeland

Quick Take — Alto's Dynamic Duo of Jacolby Whitaker and Zac Sturns were both held to under 100 yards rushing in last week's loss to state-ranked West Sabine...Look for both to bounce back in a big way this week against a Sandie defense that has been allowing 40 points a game...If the Mean Sting can limit costly penalties and turnovers they should be able to collect the “W” fairly easy.

Dallas Parish Episcopal Panthers (4-3, 3-1) at Brook Hill Guard (4-3, 1-1)

7:30 .m.Friday at Herrington Stadium in Bullard

Head Coaches: Scott Nady, Parish Episcopal; Bobby Brasher, Brook Hill

Last Week: Parish Episcopal 51, Dallas Shelton 7; Dallas Christian 34, Brook Hill 12

Next Week: Prince of Peace at Parish Episcopal; Brook Hill at Grace Community

Quick Take — Both teams have a glut of underclassmen this year, but have been playing well in district...Both schools have loop wins over Shelton Trinity Christian, and TK Gorman and losses against Dallas Christian...Game should factor heavily into playoff seeding from TAPPS Div. II-Dist. 2...The Panthers have been averaging seven points a game more than the Guardsmen...Brook Hill was held to just 162 total yards last week in the loss to Dallas Christian...If the Guard can get the passing game going this week good things can happen...This one should be worth the price of admission.

Note: The Rusk Eagles have an open date this week.
