BROWNSBORO — Martin's Mill, the No. 2 ranked team in Class I-A-I, spanked Jacksonville, 43-23, in an opening round of the Great East Texas Shootout in Brownsboro Thursday afternoon.
Jacksonville could not get its offense on track until the four quarter as the Lady Mustang's took a 33-9 lead into the final stanza.
Martin's Mill improved to 11-1 and has won 10 games in a row, while the Maidens saw their slate slip to 6-3.
Jacksonville will play a consolation bracket game ealry Friday morning against an opponent to be determined.
The 27-team (girls bracket) will wrap up on Saturday.
