Cason McCuin exploded for 20 points in Jacksonville Middle School 7th-grade Blue's 44-40 decision over Lindale Thursday night in Lindale.
LeTaris Castleberry also had a noteworthy effort in pumping in 12 points to go along with 14 rebounds.
JMS 8th-grade Gold also came away with a win, besting Lindale, 24-22.
Tolliver Thirkill was credited with the game-winning bucket as time expired. Thirkill scored four points in the game.
High man for the Braves was Samatrian Matlock with six.
Despite getting seven points and eight boards from Josh McDowell, the JMS 8th-grade Blue fell, 39-28.
Jaeshun Bush had five steals and two assists in the game.
Lindale also defeated the JMS 7th-grade Gold by a score of 36-16.
Taqualan Thompson and Tacameron Stubblefield paced the Braves with seven and five points, respectively.
The JMS Blue teams wil be playing in the Lufkin Tournament this weekend.
District play will resume for all of the middle school squads next Thursday with a trip to Nacogdoches on tap for the Braves.
