The Jacksonville College women's basketball team improved to 4-3 on the year by destroying Coastal Bend, 79-40, Thursday night at Curtis Carroll Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Deva'Nyar Workman tossed in a team-best 16 points to spark the Lady Jags, who were able to keep the Cougars (0-5) winless on the year.

Shahd Abboud torched the twine for 15 points and Yvonne Maosa put in 12 for the Lady Jags.

Jamie Lamb had a team-high 10 rebounds to compliment her four points.

Eleven of the 12 Lady Jags that saw action scored at least three points in the lopsided affair.

The contest did not count in the region XIV standings as Coastal Bend will begin playing a complete home and home conference schedule beginning next season.

The Lady Jags will return to the court at 5:30 p.m. Monday by taking on the SFA Club team.
