MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. —
Josh McCown posted some eye-popping numbers in the Chicago Bears' 23-20 overtime loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon at Mall of America Field.
The former Jacksonville Indian quarterback went 23-36-0 — 355 yards and two touchdowns as the Chicago starter.
The Vikings (3-8-1) got a 34-yard field goal from Blair Walsh to win the game in the bonus round.
McCown, who was making his third-consecutive start for injured (ankle) Jay Cutler, threw touchdown strikes to Alshon Jeffery that covered 80 yards and 46 yards, respectively. Both touchdown tosses came in the third quarter.
Chicago (6-6) led 20-10 going into the final frame.
That's when the Vikings, who were sparked by Palestine's Adrian Peterson (35-211), scored 10 fourth-stanza points to force the overtime session.
Chicago is schedule to return to action on Monday, Dec. 9, when the Bears entertain the Dallas Cowboys.
