Senior Katelyn Standley, who has signed to play collegiately at Stephen F. Austin, hit a three-run home run and went 3-for-3 with 4 RBI to lead Troup to a 14-0 win over Hawkins’ Lady Hawks Friday night.
The win enabled the No.9-ranked (Class 2A) Lady Tigers to earn the District 18-2A championship as well.
Troup got a total of 12 hits in the 5-inning affair.
Miranda Flora turned in a 2-for-3 game, with Bethany Mason going 2-for-4.
Lee Ann Lloyd worked the first inning from the circle for the Lady Tigers (25-5-2, 11-1 18-2A) and didn’t allow any runs or hits.
She walked three and struck out one.
Josee Ross finished things up and limited the Lady Hawks to just a lone safety.
Ross whiffed seven Hawkins batters in the four innings that she pitched.
