Austin Ballew had a game to remember Tuesday when his Rusk Eagle team smothered the Goats of Groesbeck, 19-2, in a District 19-3A fray that was played at the Groesbeck Baseball Field.
The game was called after five innings due to the Mercy Rule.
Ballew, the Eagle catcher, drove in a team-high eight runs to spur Rusk to its 12th-straight victory.
The Eagles own an overall record of 19-2 and are 11-0 in conference play.
Vijay Stingley had a four-hit night and Jordan Roach collected three hits as a part of a 21-hit Rusk attack.
Parker Clark drove in four runs for the winners also.
Josh Raiborn worked two innings and struck out four Goats, with Jadarian Skinner coming on in relief and fanning three.
Groesbeck slipped to 10-16-1, 5-7 in District 19-3A games.
Rusk, who seemingly long ago clinched the 19-3A district title, will close out the regular season at home tonight when Mexia's Black Cats come to town. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Eagles downed Mexia, 10-0, when the teams met in Mexia earlier this year.
