With Senior Night serving as a backdrop, the Rusk Eagles completed a 12-0 run through District 19-3A Friday evening at Eagle Park by doubling up the Blackcats from Mexia, 6-3.
The Eagles (19-9, 12-0) scored four times in the bottom of the first to put the pressure on the visitors from the outset.
Rusk led 5-1 after two complete.
Vijay Stingley totaled three hits to guide the Eagles while Josh Raiborn knocked in three runs.
Parker Clark had a hit and an RBI for the winners.
A trio of Eagle moundsmen, Morgan Johnson, Wyatt Gilchrest and Jadarian Skinner limited Mexia (4-20-1, 2-10) to just five hits on the night.
Gilchrest and Skinner struck out three men apiece.
Johnson worked three frames, with Gilchrest and Skinner pitching two innings each.
The Eagles extended their winning streak to 13 games with the win.
Rusk will next see action in bi-district play late next week, where the Eagles will take on either Center or Jasper from district 20-3A.
