Alto picked up its first win of the season Friday night by blasting Kirbyville, 7-1, in the Lufkin Hudson Tournament.
The Lady Jackets exploded for six runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Laney Black and Hanna Watson led Alto at the plate by collecting two hits apiece.
Madison Crisp worked three innings in the circle for the winners and struck out four, with Alyssa Duplichain fanning five Kirbyville batters in two innings of pitching duty.
Alto out hit Kirbyville 7-2 in the game.
Early Friday morning Groveton edged the Lady Jackets, 2-1, to spoil a five strike out performance by Crisp.
Duplichain led Alto at the plate with a pair of hits.
The Lady Jackets are scheduled to play two games Saturday in the tourney.
At 10:45 Alto will take on Cleveland, followed by a game against Diboll at 4 p.m.
