Getting two hits each from Lee Ann Lloyd, Bethany Mason, Caitlin Tomlin and Josee Ross, the Troup High School softball team glided past Canton, 9-0, Friday night in Troup, in what was the season opener for the Lady Tigers.
Troup collected a total of 10 hits while Ross surrender just two hits to the Eaglettes while fanning eight in the complete game outing for the Lady Tiger ace.
Tomlin had Troup's only extra-base hit of of the game, a double. She also drove in a pair of runs.
Mason scored four runs for Troup and knocked one in.
Lloyd, batting lead-off, stole two bases for the Lady Tigers.
“I was very proud of what I saw out of the team, both on the field and in the dugout,” Troup head coach, Sam Weeks, said.”They did a great job.”
Troup will hit the road to take on Elysian Fields at 6 p.m.Monday.
