Tyler Junior College football coaches must be of the belief that good things come in multiples of three when it comes to Jacksonville Fight'n Indian football.
With the Apaches' signing of former Jacksonville Indian Ledarius Session recently, TJC, members of the NJCAA's Southwest Junior College Football Conference, now will have a trio of Jacksonville's Class of 2013 on the roster when the Apaches open the regular season at 6 p.m. on August 24 in Shreveport, La. against an opponent to be announced.
Session joins Dadrian Franklin and Darrell Minifee, a pair of Tribesmen that signed with TJC in the spring.
Chris Taber, Jacksonville High athletic director and head football coach said that he believes the Apaches have locked up the services of a quality — both on and off of the field — football player.
“TJC is getting an unbelievable football player and a great young man,” Taber said. “LD (Ledarius Session) was a key athlete for our program and we expect to see him do great things at TJC.”
Session played three positions, running back, receiver and linebacker for the Indians in 2012.
He was honored as a District 16-4A First team pick at linebacker, while also garnering Second Team mention at running back.
The athletic Session also played on the Tribe basketball and track and field teams.
TJC finished the 2012 season with a 5-5 record under head coach Danny Palmer.
