Following a true history making campaign this spring, Jacksonville Fightin' Maiden softball player Hannah Holcomb, has been recognized as the District 164A Newcomer of the Year.
The Maidens qualified for the state playoffs in the 13-year history of the program, which apparently caused the stock of several players to soar up the charts.
Infielders TaSheena Canady and Nicole Robinson came away with first team recognition.
Meanwhile, JHS catcher Jordane Mallard and middle infielder Dashia Canady were chosen for places onto the honorable mention rolls.
Jacksonville had a total of five young ladies that excelled in the classroom and won academic all-district plaudits.
That list included, TaSheena Canady, Logan Freeman, Damonica Franklin and Nicole Robinson.
