The Rusk Lady Eagles, the District 19-3A champions, were named to the 19-3A all-district team in droves recently as four of the Rusk girls, in addition to the squad's head coach, Ashley Renner, nailed down spots on the superlative list alone.
The District Most Valuable Player accolade went to Gabby Willis, who signed a softball scholarship with Hesston College of Kansas last month.
Sophomore Rachel Miller picked up Outstanding Defensive Player of the year acclaim, while Cheyenne Phillips, a senior, was honored with being named 19-3A'sPitcher of the Year.
Rounding out the black type mentions from Rusk were Cassie Fletcher, Designated Player of the Year, and Renner, who was voted as the loop's Coach of the Year.
Seniors Kara Hugghins, a second baseman, and center fielder Chelsie Daniels were the Lady Eagles' first team picks.
Second team honorees from Rusk were, Kelsey Blankinship and Kaitlin Tugwell, both seniors, as well as junior, Sydna Long.
Madison Turner, a senior, took home a honorable mention prize.
