SAN ANTONIO —
Two down and one to go.
Jacksonville College saw its second of four sophomores sign a National Letter of Intent late last week, when Davvin Hill signed with Our Lady of the Lake University, a NAIA school located in San Antonio.
Hill, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound guard should be a nice addition to the OLLU team, according to Jody Bailey, who coached Hill at JC.
“Davvin played behind a couple of really talented players in Nimrod Hillard IV and Chris Campbell; nevertheless, he played well and made the most of his opportunities,” Bailey said. “We are happy for him and we feel like Our Lady of the Lake will be a good fit for Davvin.”
Hill played in 26 games last season and drew 10 starts.
He averaged 5.2 points, 2.3 assists and 1.6 rebounds a game while playing an average of about eight minutes a night.
Hill joins Deng Leek (Southern Illinois, NCAA Division I) as Jags that have committed to play for four year schools.
Campbell and Derrick Modest are JC's remaining sophomores that are unsigned.
“We will continue to do everything we can to help Chris and Derrick find something,” stated Bailey.
The Saints finished 21-14 overall, last season.
Other members of the conference include, University of St. Thomas-Houston, University of the Southwest, Jarvis Christian, Wiley College, Huston-Tillotson, Bacone College, Langston University, Texas College, LSU-Alexandria and LSU-Shreveport.
