Brook Hill defensive gem gives Guard 63-22 district win

A defensive masterpiece by the Guard of Brook Hill resulted in the Navy and Orange chalking up a 63-22 victory over Richardson Canyon Creek Friday in a TAPPS 4-3A game that took place at Herrington Gymnasium at Brook Hill.

The Guard limited Canyon Creek (0-7 TAPPS 4-3A) to just three points in the opening stanza and four in each of the final-two periods.

Brook Hill led 43-14 at intermission as the Guardsmen improved to 16-11 overall, 6-1 TAPPS 4-3A.

Clayton Engel put in a team-high 11 points for Brook Hill while Chase McDermott, Alex Hale, Phillip Kitt and Grant Hanks added nine apiece.

Brook Hill will stay home Tuesday and entertain McKinney Christian. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
