16-4A Hoops: Jacksonville to play must-win game on Saturday

JACKSONVILLE —

Jacksonville will take on either Corsicana or Lindale in a winner-take-all for the fourth and final playoff spot out of District 16-4A at 4 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Valley Community College's Cardinal Gymnasium.

The Indians, who ended the regular season in a three-way tie for third, along with Corsicana and Lindale (all with 4-6 conference records) will play the loser of Friday night's Corsicana-Lindale matchup. The winner of that game earns the third-place berth and will advance to play Mansfield Summit (18-9) in a bi-district game early next week.

The Tribe will take on the loser of the Tigers vs. Eagles game.

A Jacksonville win in that tilt on Saturday would send the Indians into a bi-district game against No-2-ranked Lancaster (26-4), the District 15-4A champion, early next week at a location to be determined.

An Indian loss on Saturday would end Jacksonville's season.

Whitehouse (9-1) and John Tyler (6-4) are the top two playoff representatives from the conference.

One of the main things I really look forward to in the summer is locating and catching schooling bass. Schooling bass are not always easy to catch. Sometimes they are very aggressive and will react to a variety of baits. At other times they become very hard to catch. I have several baits that I rely on, but some are favorites.
