HOUSTON — Sparked by 18-point outings from both Yvonne Maosa and Susan Agesen, Jacksonville College's Lady Jaguars racked up one of their top offensive efforts of the season Saturday when they smashed San Jacinto, 89-76, at Nichols Gym in Houston.
Ally Moore poured in 13 points and Cecile Makakala chipped in 10, giving the Lady Jags four players in double figures.
Deva'Nyar Workman, Christina Robinson and Jamie Lamb just missed double-digit scoring as each knocked in eight points.
JC shot 55.2-percent (37 of 67) from the field while limiting the Gators (3-23, 1-13 Region XIV) to 28 of 69 (40.6-percent) on field goal attempts.
JC (14-11, 8-6) led 40-32 at intermission.
San Jac's Kendra Howard wound up with a game-high 36 points.
Despite the victory, the Lady Jags remained in fifth place in the conference standings, a game behind Paris, who topped Kilgore on Saturday.
The Lady Jags will take on No. 14 Blinn College at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Brenham. The Lady Bucs are 21-4 on the year.
Men: Lee College 97, Jacksonville College 76
BAYTOWN — Lee College won its third game in-a-row Saturday night by upending Jacksonville College, 97-76. The loss was the Jaguars' eighth-consecutive. The JC men slipped to 8-19, 2-14 Region XIV, following the loss.
The Rebels moved to 16-10, 9-6 with the victory.
