Spurred on by a Madison Crisp no hitter and Alyssa Duplichain's 3 for 3 night at the plate, the No. 4-ranked Alto Lady Jackets crushed Corrigan-Camden, 11-0, Thursday night at Coy Simms Softball Park, during opening day play in the Lady Dragon-Lady Devil Tournament.
Alto now stands 5-2 on the year.
Crisp struck out five and did not walk a batter in cruising to the win in the circle.
Alto scored two runs in the first, six in the third and three in the top half of the fourth stanza to put away Corrigan-Camden.
Addie Pate had a two-run shot during the fourth inning, which also scored Alexa Russo.
Pam Arroyo singled in the third, which brought Duplichain in to score what was the Lady Jackets' first run of the inning.
Pollok Central 6, Alto 2
In Alto's first game in the tournament, the Lady Jackets fell to a solid Class 3A Pollok Central outfit by a score of 6-2.
Duplichain went 2 for 2 with the bat for Alto. She singled in the first inning and supplied a fourth inning double.
She also had a RBI and a run scored.
Duplichain also pitched one inning against the Lady Bulldogs where she did not surrender any runs and struck out one while not walking a batter.
Kynzie Germany drove in a run for the Lady Jackets.
