The No. 4-ranked Alto Lady Jackets took the Overton Lady Mustangs to the proverbial woodshed Tuesday afternoon.
At the end of the day Alto exited Overton with a 22-0 win, needing just eight hits and four innings to get the job done in what was the district opener for both clubs.
The Lady Jackets, ranked fourth in Class A, improved to 9-3 with the win.
Dariyana Moore, Kynzie Germany and Laney Black had two hits each for Alto.
Moore drove in six runs, while Shakeyla Griffin and Germany had three RBI apiece.
Madison Crisp and Alyssa Duplichain combined to hold Overton to just one hit in the game.
Crisp worked three innings and Duplichain pitched in the final frame for the Lady Jackets.
The duo fanned eight and one Lady Mustangs, respectively.
Head coach Luke Balkom's team will have the weekend off before hosting Douglass at 5 p.m. on Mar. 4.
