To score 47 points in a football game is quite the accomplishment.
And that is exactly what the Rusk Eagles did Friday night when they torched Brownsboro 47-34 in front of an appreciative homecoming crowd at Eagle Stadium.
The 47 points is even more impressive given the fact that the Eagles (2-3) had scored just 41 in their previous four games combined.
Six of Rusk's touchdowns were provided for by tow of the teams' running backs, D.J. Glenn and Drew Dorsey.
Glenn carried 16 times for 162 yards and plowed not the end zone three times while Dorsey matched Glenn's touchdown total while getting called on for 10 runs that totaled 66 yards.
Together, the two gave the Bear (2-3) defense all night long.
Glenn and Dorsey are both juniors.
Isiah Francis also had a big night for the Eagle offense. He rushed for 129 yards on 11 carries (11.7 yards per carry)
The 47 points is the most that Risk has scored since a season-opening win over Terrell last year.
Rusk hits the road Friday, with a visit to Carthage (4-1) on tap. Kick off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
