Maiden volleyball stopped by district power

JACKSONVILLE —

Whitehouse improved to 2-0 in District 16-4A play Tuesday night in Jacksonville after knocking off the Maidens, 3-0.

The Ladycats, a perennial power out of the circuit, blitzed out to claim the first set, 25-8.

Jacksonville played better in Game 2, despite falling by a score of 25-15.

The Ladycats closed things down with a 25-12 win the the third and decisive set.

Kaitlyn Anderson had eight spikes to spark the Ladycats.

Jacksonville travels to Corsicana for a 4:30 p.m. match on Friday.
