The Panthers of Bullard won both of their games Thursday in the Great East Texas Shootout, which is being hosted by Brownsboro High School.
The Bullard boys pressed out a 68-60 overtime decision over Palestine Westwood to start their run in the three-day tournament and returned to the court later to maul Malakoff, 62-42.
Bullard's girls swapped wins by humbling Grand saline, 51-30, before losing to state ranked Alba-Golden, 48-41.
In the win over Westwood, Bullard owned the bonus session, outscoring Westwood 12-4 to claim the victory.
A trio of BHS Panthers hit for double digits in the game with Eric Barb's 17 leading the way.
Hunter Landrum added 13 and Andrew Thomas scored 12.
In the Panthers' final game of the day, Bullard seemed determined to avoid an overtime period as the Panthers jumped out to an 18-1 lead after one quarter of play, as Bullard coasted to a 20-point win over Malakoff.
Landon Beckham scorched the nets for a game-high 20 points,which included three shots from long range.
Major Tennison drained 13 points, followed by Zach Eschberger with 10.
Bullard's girls held Grand Saline to just five second-half points as the Lady Panther totally dominated the Lady Indians.
Lexi Abercrombie knocked in 30 points for Bullard and Lexi Kirgan finished with 11.

In a battle of Lady Panthers, Alba-Golden's group logged a huge fourth stanza, in which they outscored Bullard, 23-7, to collect the come-from-behind victory.
Colie Lennon put in 10 points for the winners.
Abercrombie led all players with 15, followed by Brittany Hinton with eight.
