The Lady Eagles of Rusk led Huntington for right at the first 28 minutes of Friday's non-district game that took place at Eagle Coliseum.
Unfortunately for the Lady Eagles, it was Huntington that had the most points the only time it really mattered — when the final buzzer sounded — as the visitors silenced Rusk, 33-26.
Huntington trailed 24-19 heading into the final frame, but the Devilettes quickly went on a 12-2 run that the Red and Black did not have an answer for.
The Devilettes took their first lead of the game, 28-26, with 4:17 left in the game.
The Devilette defense forced numerous Lady Eagle turnovers in the late going while holding Rusk scoreless for the final six minutes of the game.
Rachel Miller led the Lady Eagles in scoring, pouring in eight points.
Huntington got nine points from Katie Davis.
Rusk, who returns to District 19-3A play on Tuesday by traveling to Groesbeck, led 19-15 at halftime.
The Rusk girls are 0-2 in conference play.
