Fans of high scoring softball games were in the right location Friday when the Alto Lady Jackets took a wild one over Price Carlisle, winning 16-10.
The teams combined to forge out 18 hits — with seven of those being of the extra-base variety — combined in the game.
Alto, ranked No. 5 in the current Class A poll, is now 13-3 overall, 5-0 in district.Trailing 5-4, going into the home half of the fourth frame, Alto added six runs to its total and then followed that up with a five-spot in the sixth.
Highlighting things in the fourth for the Lady Jackets was a two-run single by Hanna Watson and a base hit by Alyssa Duplichain that scored a run.
The Alto sixth featured a three-run double by Addi Pate and a steal of home plate by Dariyana Moore.
Madison Crisp was the winning pitcher of record for the Lady Jackets, who are back in action this afternoon when they welcome Overton to town for a 5 p.m. tilt.
Crisp gave up eight runs on seven hits, struck out four and walked three over six innings of work.
