Crisp, Duplichain lead Alto to DH sweep of Mt. Enterprise


Alto's Lady Jackets continued to rule with in District 21-A after winning a pair of conference games over Mount Enterprise Tuesday at Lady Jacket Park.

Head coach Luke Balkom's ladies leveled Mt. Enterprise, 13-3, in Game 1 and needed just five and a half frames to crush the Galcats, 18-2, in the second game of the evening.

Madison Crisp picked up what would be the first of two wins on the night for her in Game 1. She gave up three runs through five innings on five hits, struck out four and walked one.

Alto scored four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.

In the Lady Jacket half of the fourth, Carenza Johnson stole home plate to account for one of Alto's runs.

Johnson had one hit, a second stanza double, and two RBI. Laney Black and Kynzie German also tosses in base hits.

In the finale, it was all Alto from the early going when the Lady Jackets sent three runs across in the opening segment and 10 more in the second.

To make matters worse for the Galcats, the Mt. Enterprise team committed nine gaffes.

Freshman, Alyssa Duplichain pounded out a triple and went 2 for 2 in the game.

Crisp gave up two runs over four innings of circle duty for Alto. She racked up five strike outs and walked a pair.

The Lady Jackets, the No. 4-ranked team in this week's TGCA Class A poll, upped their slate to 17-3, 9-0 21-A with the victories.

Up next for Alto is a trip to Cushing on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

    Johnson was introduced as Brook Hill's man to lead the Lady Guard hoop charges Tuesday afternoon in a press conference that was held on campus at the Kyle Lake Athletic Center.
