Brook Hill's bid for a TAPPS Class 3A state softball championship fell short Friday morning in Waco when Lubbock Christian's Lady Eagles won a slugfest over the Lady Guard, 13-8.
Brook Hill ends the year with a record of 14-9, under head coach Anthony Springer.
Lubbock Christian (30-9) advances to play either League City Bay Area Christian or Houston Cypress Christian today at noon at Waco ISD Field No. 2.
The Lady Eagles came out guns-a-blazin' and rapidly shot out to a 10-1 advantage after three complete.
Brook Hill continued to fight back however as the Lady Guard scored seven times in the last four innings, but it wasn't enough to secure the win.
Brook Hill outhit Lubbock Christian, 13-8, with KD Keuchel pacing the Lady Guard attack by collecting three hits.
Morgan Fore added two hits.
Rowan picked up 3 RBI.
Ƒore, who has signed with University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, along with Desarae Rowan and Ivy Sudduth, was one of three young ladies that played in their final game for the Lady Guard.
Lexi Crenshaw worked 2.2 innings and struck out four Lady Eagles.
Brook Hill was making its first state tournament appearance in six years.
