CORSICANA — Corsicana's Trevor Nolen, who improved to 5-0 on the year,  limited visiting Jacksonville to just three hits in Friday's regular season finale for both clubs as the No.-6-ranked Tigers went on to log a 7-1 win over the Indians.

Corsicana (25-5-1, 9-1 16-4A) tied Whitehouse for first place in the conference standings, while the Tribesmen (9-21, 2-8) ended the year, their first under the direction of head coach Mike Eckles, as the fifth-place team in the loop.

Highlighting the season for the Indians was Jacksonville earning the championship at the Chapel Hill Tournament, where the team posted a 4-1 record and polished of Pollak Central, 4-2 in the title game on Feb. 23.

Another noteworthy effort came on Senior Day (April 20) when Jacksonville came from behind in the final inning to clip Rusk 3-2.

The Tribe will lose the services of seven seniors who are scheduled to graduate next month.

That list includes, Dillion Rodriquez, Ruston Diers, Zeke Edwards, Brett Eckles, Jeff Pryor, Garrett Bonner and Trevor Ewalt.

Key returnees for 2014 should  include, Brayden Rawlinson, Cash Cleaver, Chris Holcomb and Guadalupe Muniz.
