Bullard's boys finished the regular season on a strong note late last week when a handful of Panthers posted top-shelf efforts in at the Kaufman Tournament, Bullard's last activity before the 16-3A Tournament, which is scheduled to open in Kilgore on Thursday and conclude the following day with matches at Longview High School.
The Panther duo consisting of Cameron Sanson & Hunter Wages won the gold medal in boy's doubles.
Sanson & Wages first shutout Dowdy & Mai from Mesquite-Poteet, 8-0.
Next the Bullard boys hung the goose egg on Canton's Blevins & Branson to punch a ticket into the semi-finals.
In the semis, Sanson & Wages eased past Daniel & Rankin from Wills Point, 8-2.
Sanson & Wages then destroyed Red Oak's Post & Wilson 8-1 in the finals.
Landen Beckham won the consolation title in boy's singles.
He notched wins over Udorzah (West Mesquite), an opponent from Crandall and over Wills Point's Williams.
Beckham then defeated team mate Zach Wingate, 8-1, in the finals.
Wingate posted triumphs over Hguyen from Mesquite-Poteet, Terrell”s Kuban and over Bermudez from Kaufman to earn a trip to the finals.
In girl's action, Meg Wages went 1-2 in girl's singles.
In girl's doubles, Bullard's McCoy & Hodges tallied two wins to move into the quarter finals where they were upended by Mathison & Delawe from Cedar Hill.
Cody Hutson & Reagan Whatley lassoed wins over opponents from Crandall and North Forney, before losing to a duo out of Kilgore in the third round of mixed doubles play.
