NS Tip-Off Tournament: NS, Troup girls win; Hornets lose to state-ranked Martin's Mill

In Day 2 action of the New Summerfield Tip-Off Tournament, girls teams from New Summerfield and Troup were able to secure their first wins of the season on Friday, while the New Summerfield boys lost to state-ranked Martin's Mill, 60-38.

The Lady Hornets gave head coach Brady Sizemore his first win as the team's mentor when the NS girls outlasted Riverdale Academy of Louisiana, 34-31.

The Lady Hornets will now face Troup at 11:50 a.m. Saturday in a Consolation contest.

The Lady Tigers evened their slate at 1-1 by bouncing White Oak, 62-19 on Friday.

At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, the Hornets will square off against Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill in the Third Place game.

Martin's Mill and LaPoyner will vie for the boys championship at 5:50 p.m. While LaPoyner's Lady Flyers will test Tatum in the girls title game at 4:40 p.m.
