CANTON — Cameron Brown, a student at Jacksonville High School, won a scorecard playoff over Logan Lockwood and July Latimer to win the NTPGA Junior Golf tour stop at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Canton on Wednesday.

The three young men all stood at 77 after 18 holes of play.

The victory was Brown's fourth NTPGA tournament win of the summer — previously he won tournaments at Challenge at the Woods in Jacksonville, Eagles Bluff in Bullard and at Troup's Hilltop Country Club.

Brown started his busy week on Monday by finishing tied for second place at the Hideaway Lake tour stop near Lindale where he carded a 79.

A round of 75 by Latimar, an Athens golfer, was good enough to earn the youngster first place in the tournament.

Brown's round was highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 No. 16 hole.

The following day Brown traveled up to Yantis and came home with a third-place finish following a round of 76 giving him a rare win-place-show week on the links.

Lockwood's 1-over-par 72 was low score of the tournament in the boys 15-16 division.

Lockwood is from Van.
