Rusk sent six runners across the dish in the bottom of the third inning as the Eagles nailed down the District 19-3A championship by stopping Groesbeck, 7-3, Monday evening, which was Senior Night at Eagle Park.
Rusk is now 15-13 overall and 9-2 in conference play.
The Goats (6-4 19-3A) entered the game as the second-place team in the loop.
Groesbeck drew first blood by plating a run in the top of the third.
Drew Walley had a noteworthy game for Rusk.
At the plate he picked up three hits and drove a run in and on the hill he earned the win by pitching a complete game.
Walley gave up three runs off of seven hits and struck out four.
Michael Crews and Reece Goldsberry had two hits each for the Eagles, who close out the regular season with a trip to Mexia on Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
