There will be something for everyone Friday night when Troup High School celebrates Homecoming 2013 by hosting the Huntington Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
As an added extra, members of Troup's 1973 team will return to campus to be honored during special halftime ceremonies.
The '73 state-championship Tiger squad is the only team in Troup history to go through a season undefeated and untied — the 1968 and 1980 teams had one tie each on their respective slates.
Many members of that history-making unit are expected back to rekindle old memories and visit with friends old and new alike.
The '73 team held opponents to an average of just 6.1 points a game in route to going 16-0.
After a close call in the state semi-final game where Troup held off Falls City, 21-20, the Tigers romped over Vega, 28-7, to win the state title.
