Troup 3, Harmony 0
TROUP — Troup's Lady Tiger volleyball team used a triple-threat offensive attack to humble visiting Harmony, 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-19), Friday evening in Troup. The Lady Tigers are now 16-12 overall, 3-0 in district, while Harmony fell to 12-12, 2-1.
Josee Ross supplied a team-best 15 kills, Cheney Cover added 11 and Paeton Nolan tossed in six to keep the Harmony defenders guessing all night.
Ross also contributed 24 digs, while Cover added 19.
The assist leader for Troup was McKenna Thomas with 11.
Troup will visit West Rusk at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Lindale 3, Jacksonville 0
LINDALE — Lindale and Jacksonville opened District 16-4A play Friday night at Eagle Gymnasium with Lindale taking a 3-0 (25-4, 25-7, 25-3) win over the Maidens.
Lindale evened is docket at 11-11 overall as a result of the win.
Jacksonville will look to regroup at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday by entertaining the Ladycats from Whitehouse in the Maidens' first district home match of the fall.
The Ladycats won a 3-2 marathon over Corsicana on Friday, and are considered a strong playoff contender from the circuit.
Carthage 3, No. 20 Bullard 0
BULLARD — The No. 20-ranked (Class 3A) Bullard Lady Panthers took a break form conference play by hosting Carthage on Friday.
The Lady Bulldogs took the first set, 25-23, before going on to sweep Bullard (18-11), 3-0.
The lady Bulldogs took the second game 25-21 before taking the third set, 25-11.
Leaders for the Lady Panthers were Mackenzie Fish, Ashley Searcy and Madi Hodges.
Fish had five kills and came up with 14 digs while Searcy added four kills, a pair of aces and two blocks.
Hodges collected 21 digs on the evening.
Standouts for Bullard were Haley Lombardo and McCall Cowart.
Meanwhile the Lady Panther freshmen team took a 2-1 verdict over their guests.
Brooke Blair, Hannah Lloyd and Courtney Newbury led the way for Bullard.
The Bullard frosh are now 12-3 on the year.
Bullard will dive back into loop play by traveling to Henderson for a 6:30 p.m. match on Tuesday.
