Jacksonville was outscored, 3-1, by Nacogdoches Tuesday at Dragon Stadium.
The win allowed the Lady Dragons to overtake the Fightin' Maidens in the battle for first place in the District 35-4A girls soccer standings.
After Nacogdoches drew first blood, Lindsey Green of Jacksonville tied things up later in the first half.
The 1-1 score held at halftime.
The second half belonged to the home team Tuesday as the Lady Dragons were able to add two goals in the last 40 minutes of play.
“The biggest difference was that we had some good individual efforts, but we did not have a good team effort and that's what we needed to be able to win,” Jacksonville head girls soccer coach Kiff Wiemers said. “There's still a lot of soccer left to be played and this was just one district match. I continue to fill good about this team.”
Jacksonville is scheduled to host Diboll at 7 p.m. Friday.
