JACKSONVILLE — The football scrimmage games between Jacksonville and Bullard that were scheduled to be played tonight at Panther Stadium in Bullard have been moved back to early Friday morning.
The 9th-grade game will kick off at 8 a.m., followed by the varsity game at 9 a.m. Panther Stadium will remain the venue for both contests.
There will be no junior varsity game. JV players will suit up with the respective varsity units and will play in the varsity game.
According to Jacksonville athletic director Chris Taber the date change was necessary due to a University Interscholastic League rule that states a Class 5A or 4A team that conducted spring practices cannot scrimmage prior to Aug. 23.
Friday's dress rehearsal will be the Tribe's only practice game of the fall.
The Panthers scrimmage Brownsboro late last week.
Both clubs will open the regular season on Aug. 30.
