Matt Hance and Neriah Brown ended up tied for 16th place, respectively, to lead Jacksonville College to a sixth-place finish in the Tyler Junior College Fall Invitational, contested earlier this week at Eagle's Bluff in Bullard.
Both Jaguars finished with a two-round total of 159.
The Jags faced a stout field, as regional powers Ranger College, TJC and Paris Junior College were all in attendance.
Ranger won the event with a team total 612 (305-307), followed closely by TJC (298, 317 — 615) and Paris (313-305 — 618).
Seminole State of Oklahoma was next (320-318 — 638) and UT-Tyler JV claimed fifth (311-330 —641).
TJC is coached by long-time Cherokee County golf gurus Sandy Terry and Jess Hamilton.
Other JC participants and their scores included, Troup High-product Will Langston (T29, 166), Garrett Worley (T33, 167) and Trey Manis (35th,168).
JC also entered a “B” team, which was guided by Brandon McCallister's T25 finish.
McCallister carded a 164.
The squad, which included Logan Reagan, Taylor Temple, Travis Young and Drake McKinney, checked in with a 668, which put them in eighth place.
JC golf is coached by Lynn Nabi and Blake Porter.
