JACKSONVILLE —

Rusk 3, Huntington 1 — Huntington's Devilettes had a devil of a time coming up with a way to defend the Lady Eagles' powerful front line attack featuring Shayla Townsend and Emily Price. Rusk's offense was just too much for Huntington, with the Lady Eagles winning the Class 3A, Region III bi-district match, 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-21) at Central Heights High School Tuesday evening. The Lady Eagles, the third-place team out of District 19-3A will now move on to face Lorena (23-9), who notched a 3-0 decision over Rockdale Tuesday, in an Area match that will be hosted by Buffalo High School at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Troup 3, Jefferson 0 — Cheney Cover and Josee Ross racked up 14 kills apiece in Troup's 3-0 Class 2A, Region III bi-district conquest over the Jefferson Lady Bulldogs late Tuesday night at Lobo Coliseum in Longview. The game scores were 25-19, 25-10, 25-12. Ross led her team defensively with 28 digs, followed by Bethany Mason with 21. Carly Dyess also had a big night, supplying the Lady Tigers (26-13) with 33 assists and four service aces. Troup will now face either Elkhart or Woodville in an Area match later this week at a time and location to be announced. Troup, the District 18-2A champions, are coached by Arden Johnson.

Van 3, Bullard 1 — The Lady Panthers of Bullard saw their season come to an end Tuesday night at UT-Tyler Herrington-Patriot Center as Van defeated Bullard, 3-1 (25-20, 18-25, 25-21, 25-23) in a Class 3A, Region II bi-district affair. Bullard ends the year with a 22-16 record. Seniors Maddy Davis, Madi Hodges, Ashley Searcy and Mallory McCoy played in their final match as Lady Panthers on Tuesday.
