Jacksonville wasted little time in establishing superiority Friday name in a non-district game against Athens.
The Fight'n Maidens ran their record to 3-1 on the year by whipping the Lady Hornets, 72-38, at the JISD Gymnasium.
The Maidens took the suspense out of the contest early on and led 33-13 at halftime.
Senior Jasmine Parson led all players with 26 points.
Monica Franklin added 14, and TaSheena Canady canned 10 points.
Athens was led in scoring by Caridad Aguilere who pumped in 18 points.
The Maidens will conclude the home stand at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night by entertaining Palestine Westwood. Westwood, who advance to the Area round of the state playoffs last year in Class 2A, fell to rival Cayuga on Friday night.
The Jacksonville girls will not play at home again until Dec. 20 when they host Crockett at 6:30 p.m.
