Chris Singhateh and Mike Manning became the fifth and sixth members, respectively, of the Jacksonville College men's basketball team to sign national letters with four year institutions this summer.
Jaguar head coach Jody Bailey announced Friday morning that Singhateh (Gayle, Sweden) and Manning, who is from Philadelphia, have agreed to join the Post University team.
Post is a NCAA Division II school that is a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and is located in Waterbury, Conn.
The Eagles are coached by Al Sokaltis, a 20-year collegiate coaching veteran.
“We are real happy that both Chris and Mike have found four-year homes,” Bailey said. “It's rare when two players from one college end up going to the same school.
“I think both of these young men will be able to make contributions at Post and we are excited for them to have this opportunity.”
With the signing of the latest pair, JC has now had six of its seven sophomores from last year's team ink deals with four-year schools.
“We are proud of that fact and we hope to be able to have an announcement regarding our last sophomore soon,” Bailey said. “It's a great feeling to know that when these young men leave here that they are going to be able to finish their studies and continue to be able to play basketball.”
