JACKSONVILLE — Tyler Junior College made sure Jacksonville College's first dose of Region XIV soccer action was a bitter-tasting one Tuesday afternoon at Bill McRae Field on the JC campus.

The TJC women (2-1-1, 1-0 Region XIV) opened the doubleheader by ripping the Lady Jaguars 9-2, while the Apaches (2-0, 1-0) shut out the Jaguars 6-0 in the last match of the afternoon.

The Lady Jags are now 1-2 overall, 0-1 Region XIV. The JC men stand 0-2-1 overall, 0-1 in conference play.

Next up for the Lady Jags and Jags will be maatches against East Texas Baptist University, which are scheduled for 6 and 8 p.m. Friday in Jacksonville.

This is the first year that JC has fielded soccer teams.
