CORSICANA — The Jacksonville Indian diamond boys will go into tonight's season finale on somewhat of a high note, as the Tribe rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat rival Rusk 3-2 in their last game, which was played on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville.

A Mason Smith single into right field drove Brett Eckles into score from second base, giving the Indians the victory which capped off a wild Senior Day at the ole ball yard.

Shifting gears now, Jacksonville will be facing a Tiger team that is ranked No.7 in the state.

Corsicana, who leads the District 16-4A standings, is 23-5-1 overall, 8-1 in conference play.

In the Tigers' last outing which came last Friday, Corsicana nipped second-place Whitehouse, 3-2, to capture the top spot on the district ladder.

Tonight's game was originally set to be played in Jacksonville, but wet grounds in Corsicana forced the first meeting (April 5) between the two clubs to be moved from the Tigers' home park to Summers Norman Field therefore tonight's game will be played in Corsicana.

In that first meeting, the Tigers prevailed over the Indians by a 10-3 margin.
